Andrew is a Principal in the Employment and Industrial team of Hall Payne Lawyers based in Brisbane.
Priding himself on taking a practical outcome-focussed approach and placing great importance on providing proactive advice that delivers real value, his advice is grounded in hands-on industrial relations experience in bargaining and dispute resolution, and backed by significant litigation experience in courts and tribunals from the Magistrate’s Court to the High Court of Australia. He is an experienced and talented industrial and workplace relations lawyer who brings a wealth of knowledge to the firm.
With over 25 years of experience, Andrew is an industrial and employee relations practitioner with experience in private practice, union advocacy, and senior leadership. He has worked previously at Slater and Gordon Lawyers in Brisbane, as head of national industrial and employment and as a principal lawyer. Andrew has been a barrister at the Queensland Bar Association and at the New South Wales Bar Association. He has been a member of the Industrial Relations Society of Queensland.
Andrew’s practice covers the whole gamut of industrial relations and employment law issues, from the drafting of employment contracts, advising on restructuring and transmission of business issues, bargaining, disciplinary investigations, workplace disputes, WHS issues, PIDs, discrimination, sexual harassment and termination of employment, general protections and related issues, as well as award, agreement and Fair Work Act contraventions. His experience working across a variety of industries and from all sides means that he brings a unique perspective to the workplace issues.
