Hall Payne Lawyers is excited to welcome Andrew Rich as a Principal, based in Brisbane he will lead our Queensland Employment and Industrial Law team.
Andrew, the former Head of Slater & Gordon’s National Industrial and Employment practice, brings experience across employment, industrial relations, workplace investigations, enterprise bargaining and regulatory compliance, and his arrival will support the continued growth of our employment practice.

Andrew is an experienced and talented industrial and workplace relations lawyer who brings a wealth of knowledge to the firm. With over 25 years of experience, Andrew is an industrial and employee relations practitioner with experience in private practice, union advocacy, and senior leadership.
He has worked previously at Slater and Gordon Lawyers in Brisbane, as head of national industrial and employment from July 2021 to September 2025 and as a principal lawyer from July 2008 to July 2021.
Andrew has been a barrister at the Queensland Bar Association from 2006 to 2008 and at the New South Wales Bar Association from 2004 to 2006. He has been a member of the Industrial Relations Society of Queensland.
